What We Believe
As United Methodist Christians, we believe in God, the source of unfailing and unconditional love; Jesus Christ, His only Son and our Lord; and the Holy Spirit, as the presence of God at work in our lives and in the world. We believe that God loved the world enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to reveal love in a concrete and visible way. Jesus demonstrated God’s love in healing, teaching, and in his death and resurrection. When believers accept that love, we become channels of it, and share that love in action. “God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him…Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another.” I John 4:7, 11. If, as United Methodists, we had to summarize our beliefs in one statement, we might say, “We believe in Love.”
